I welcome you to the website of HAFED, The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd., an apex cooperative institution of the State. 

        Hafed came into existence in 1966 with the formation of State of Haryana. In the initial stages, it mainly undertook procurement and distribution of fertilizers through its network of Primary Cooperative Marketing Societies and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (Mini Banks). Thereafter, Hafed’s activities diversified into foodgrains’ procurement, warehousing, cold storage, agro-processing and marketing of branded consumer products etc.  Hafed has contributed a lot in uplifting the social and economic status of farmers and the rural poor.  Now, Hafed has increased its business manifold and has become a giant organization.  Indeed, it is looking after the farmer’s needs at all levels besides being engaged in the service of the consumers by providing them quality products at reasonable price. 

        It is a matter of pride for the State of Haryana that Hafed by its efficient management is having various agro-based processing units all over the state.  I am happy to note that Hafed is also promoting two new Cooperative Sugar Mills at Sirsa and Gohana.  This will lead to much needed diversification in cropping pattern and ensure a reasonable return of their produce.  In addition, an Animal Feeds Plant at Saktakhera, two modern Rice Mills at Ding and Kalanwali and an Oil Mill at Narnaul are also being set up by the Federation. 

        The unique strength of Hafed lies in its direct contact with the farmers.  The raw material for all Hafed’s consumer products, viz. paddy, oilseeds or any other agricultural produce is directly procured from the farmers.  

        The website will benefit the farmers, Cooperative Societies, consumers and beneficiaries.
